Sept 22, 2007 ~ "Two Weeks 1 Day!"

The clock is ticking...

I'm so excited. Things are falling into place so well. So well I've started forgetting I changed my wedding date only a few weeks ago! The assistant pastor of the church I grew up in agreed to be our officiant. My mother suprised me and bought my daughters flower girl dress and all her accessories. Then did the same for all my accessories, from tiara to shoes. Meanwhile we were at the bridal shop to choose her dress LOL. I was so thankful because that leaves us money to do something we really wanted to!

We had originally planned to have a noon wedding / reception and then a "party" reception later that evening with our friends. Minus the mom's and older folks =) But because of our tight timeline and date we had X'd that idea. Now we can, thanks to good-ole momma. We will not do it to the extent we originally planned because there are several people dear to us unable to attend our wonderful day. causing our numbers dewindle some. I will still use my friend's aunt's lounge in downtown Atlanta. I've loved that place since I stepped inside in August. The decor is so mellow and beautiful. I can't wait!

I still have a small to do list. I haven't found a ring I like for FI. I am making our card box myself. I am in the air on my bouquet, if I'll make it myself or not. He's wedding day gift. Pick up my dress from alterations this week.

I think I am blessed to have such a simple list of to do's with a shortly planned wedding! I guess it's not that bad since I had most things done I just had to changed them to our "new" date =) My sister and a few of my friends are taking bets on when I'll go "bridzilla" I'm naturally impatient and snappy. Which is why they KNOW someone will catch it SOON! I'm praying I keep it together, but chances are... I'll yell / cuss someone out =)

I'm still debating on what my last day of work will be... I originally was going to San Antonio on the 29th. Though now if I do my last day at work will be the 28th and I won't return until the 16th of Oct. I've been work part time for the last 2 months so it's not that serious, but that just seems like a really long time.

Today while chatting with my girls we began discussing the wedding industry. The hoopla and money associate with a wedding. During this conversation I stated that how happy I am I didn’t stick with the original budget we had for our wedding. How I would be mad if I had spent that much now that I am married. Some times I feel like I am anti-weddings. It might be from being on The Knot (TK) since this past July. Or seeing couples, especially the women, put so much work, time and focus into their wedding and its over in a snap! Some spend a year or more planning their wedding. Inappropriate Questions

I am the queen of asking questions. I ask because I rather ask than assume, but I try not to ask inappropriate questions. If only others would do so too! Here are some I get and/or hear. “What grade are you in?” Um stupid motherf’er I am GROWN! Notice the diamonds on my left hand and my wedding band. The nice business casual clothes! This is a question I get atleast once a month from some random stupid person that don’t know me and they usually get a rude response. I mean if you are observant enough to look at me and think I’m that young you need to really be observant! And I’m a sistah, yes with a H! Yall know black don’t crack! “When are you due?” This one always makes me laugh when someone ask a woman who has a muffin top stomach and is NOT pregnant! I know it’s funny to me since I don’t get that question, but still how ignorant is that! “When are you having kids?” Um lets see, never! Why are you all in our sex life? I mean really! Single In the City blog #1

As I previously stated I am doing a Single In the City blog on BAB . I will copy them over here after they have been posted there a few days.
